Weather
Melbourne has a temperate oceanic climate and is well known for its changeable weather conditions. This is mainly due to Melbourne’s location situated on the boundary of the very hot inland areas and the cool southern ocean. This temperature differential is most pronounced in the spring and summer months and can cause very strong cold fronts to form. These cold fronts can be responsible for all sorts of severe weather from gales to severe thunderstorms and hail, large temperature drops, and heavy rain.

Crime
Although Melbourne’s crime rate dropped 6.3{a33f6b2403dac92bbc4b39c00e75cf902f640f22cf5dc9f6820a3e36b62fe29e} in 2014, it still has Victoria’s worst crime rate with over 26,000 offences per 100,000 people, it remains a very safe city.

The culture of the city is an important draw card for tourists.
